A.W. LAKE announces the firm’s boldest venture to date: FUTURE PROOF H3 – Center for Wellness Strategies. The Center’s ultra-modern and monolithic steel cladded structure stands just above 2000 meters (6800 feet) on a 16 hectares (40 acres) property in Colorado’s vast Front Range.
FUTURE PROOF H3 is the brainchild of Adria W. Lake, owner and founder of A.W.LAKE. The center aims to facilitate strategic partnerships and collaborative development of disruptive technologies, products and services which share one common objective, the flourishing of our collective Health, Happiness, and Humanity (H3).
A.W. LAKE launched the Resilience-based Wellness (RbW)TM in 2017 to lay the foundation for the center. “RbWTM takes an evolutionary approach to wellness. Our Resilience and Wilderness camp exposes participants to unfamiliar and unpredictable conditions, new sensations and experiences, because evolution favors adaptation, rather than prevention or avoidance” Adria explains.
FUTURE PROOF H3 takes this resilience/evolutionary approach a step further. “What does Resilience-based WellnessTM have to offer in the brave new world of AI, biotech, genetic engineering, and big data? The race to edit, enhance and augment our genes, minds and bodies is on. For the first time in the history of mankind, technology more so than nature or nurture, will determine the course of human evolution. What impact will wellness have on the future of humanity? What foresight, insight, or hindsight will wellness bring to the table where decisions that alter and shape the landscape of our future are made?” Adria asks.
FUTURE PROOF H3 provides an open platform for individuals, companies and organizations from seemingly unrelated fields of interests or industries to discuss, debate and examine contrasting ideas and form strategic alliances. “As we enter a future where changes, disruptions, major transformations will happen faster, more abruptly and unpredictably than at any other time in the past, we must embrace progress, celebrate innovation, encourage exploration while ensuring that humanity will continue to thrive, not threatened” adds Adria.
Within a generation, technology has given billions of people access to unprecedented amount of data and information. Now, its flooding the market with apps, devices, and programs designed to measure our vital signs, collect our health data, monitor our daily activities, moods and habits. Soon, AI and algorithms will be able to process and analyze the colossal amount of data and provide a personalized nutritional profile, exercise program, sleep cycle, work schedule designed to optimize our productivity, performance, and extend lifespan.
That’s just the beginning.
Innovations in biotechnology and genetic engineering will sequence, edit, enhance our genes, augment our physical and mental capabilities and may even give birth to different sub-species of humanoids. VR technology imbedded in our brains or directly connected to our neurological functions will create experiences we cannot yet conceive, simulate spiritual fulfilment, induce happiness, and allow us to escape reality on demand.
How do we edit, augment, enhance our genetic codes, minds, and bodies without losing our intrinsic humanness? What opinion, input or intelligence do we have on how technology that affect our well-being should be used, developed and regulated? What type of technology or scientific research is needed to reverse the rising trends of preventable diseases, opioid addiction, and declining mental health of the world’s population? What steps must we take to instill confidence, healthy self-image, compassion, and curiosity in the hearts and minds of the next generation? This is just a short list of responsibilities currently up for grabs.
Now is the time to step up to the plate, or it may be too late and the damage done may well be irreversible.
